Afternoon at the Orpheum

Through our "Afternoon at the Orpheum" community program, the Friends of the Orpheum Theatre provides a special night to those members of our community for whom a theatre ticket would be out of reach due to financial challenges.

Tickets are donated to community agencies who then select and invite those members they determine would most enjoy and benefit from this special experience.

We partner with the Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona who uses the healing powers of the arts to help abused and homeless children build resiliency and learn to trust and heal, P.E.O International who celebrates the advancement of women, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association who supports and defends those who have defended our country and our freedoms, Along Side Ministry who helps our incarcerated brothers and sisters discover godly purpose in their lives, the Phoenix Symphony who provides the joy of music as a catalyst in helping Arizona to become the best place in America to live and work, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication who offers real-world education for the digital media world of today and tomorrow, Tetra String Quartet who has ongoing programs to expand access to the community by putting music where it's not, and Spotlight Youth Theatre who educates and empowers youths through the performing arts.
