The Beginning of a New Season
The Dog Days of Summer are almost a memory. So now is the time to look forward to cool, crisp nights, Halloween, family get-togethers, Thanksgiving, and great entertainment at the Orpheum.
Silent Sundays – The Valley of the Sun Chapter of the American Theater Organ Society is having a Silent Sundays movie event on October 23. The movie is “The Lodger”, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and based on the character of Jack the Ripper. Hitch considered this his first important film. The movie will be accompanied by Ron Rhode on the magnificent Wurlitzer Theater Organ.
Orpheum Ghost Tours – A huge success last October, FOTOT is bringing back Ghost Tours. Tours will take place on the evenings of October 22, 23, and 30. This is not a haunted house tour; the tour will highlight a number of “unexplained phenomena” that have occurred at the Orpheum over the last 80+ years. The one-hour Tours start at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00. The cost is $25.00 per person, and tickets can be ordered at phoenix.ticketforce.com.
Downstairs @ the Orpheum – also back for another season are the musical performances held in the “intimate Lobby Lounge” of the Theatre. On November 1 at 5:30, FOTOT will be presenting the “We Three” jazz trio, consisting of Nicole Pesce on piano, Suzanne Lansford on violin, and Renee Patrick on voice. A $5.00 donation gets you in to experience a magical musical evening.
