FilmBar at the Orpheum

EVENT: Friends of the Orpheum Theatre presents FilmBar at the Orpheum


WHAT: The Friends of the Orpheum Theatre, in partnership with FilmBar, announce the return of movies to the Orpheum Theatre. Opened in 1929, the Orpheum is the only remaining historic movie palace in Phoenix. The first show in the new monthly film series will be The Wizard of Oz. Guests are invited to enjoy the digitally remastered classic in one of the most beautiful and historic venues in downtown Phoenix. Expect some theatrical surprises throughout the show, making this a once in a lifetime cinematic experience. Opening night will feature a brief history of the venue by the Hip Historian, Marshall Shore, and other special guests. About Friends of the Orpheum Theatre

The Friends of the Orpheum Theatre (FOTOT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to provide educational and fundraising support for the Orpheum Theatre, which is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix. FOTOT was officially established in November 1993 as the “support arm" of the Orpheum Theatre Foundation. Today, FOTOT continues to be an all-volunteer based organization that serves to provide historical, educational, and fundraising support for the historic Orpheum Theatre.
